Storm-swirl iced coffee · fresh every morning

Our story

Built from the wreckage
of Cyclone Tracy.

Established in 1994, this unassuming haunt was constructed from post-Cyclone Tracy materials. The rusty corrugated iron inside and out nods to the flying tin that posed the greatest danger in the cyclone — hence the name.

Step inside and you'll find a friendly, retro-vibed room serving coffee widely acclaimed as the best in Darwin, meals made to order with fresh local ingredients, and a wide range of gluten-free and vegetarian dishes.

"Open, airy, has a retro vibe with the chairs and artworks, and almost always a free table to relax and cool. I tried the bulgogi for the first time with rice."

— Calista 5/5 review

"The coffee was excellent and we spoke with the waitress about the kim chi fried rice and bulgogi. We returned for coffee and then for the Korean food that was very good."

— Dave 5/5 review

"The cool, comfy, cosy couches are perfect for a quiet chat over a first class mug of cappuccino, an intense smoothie, delightful banana bread. A fave cafe for us."

— Ninfa 5/5 review
